Family concerns compelled her to move back and work in New York. Her Mother was moving from New York to Kentucky to live on a farm purchased by one of her brothers. Her Mom flew out to help with the cross-country drive. It was the week of September 11, 2001. After a stop in Kentucky to drop off her Mom on the farm, Susan drove on to New York, but as we can all remember, the tragedy had a profound impact on the City and country; hiring plans were put on hold. After a stint as a database developer in Connecticut and a family emergency, Susan made the decision to move to Kentucky to help out her family.
Susan’s responsibilities for the foundation include working to develop and maintain the foundation’s website. She also manages CiviCRM, our Customer Relationship program, to maintain the donor base, send out eblasts and newsletters. Susan also works monthly to layout the newsletter that keeps everyone up to date on happenings at the foundation. Her current project is working with Managing Director, Larry Pemble, on creating a storefront for the website for the sale of books, photography and other merchandise.
Sometimes in small organizations, people wear many hats and as you can read, Susan certainly fits that bill! Many thanks for the hard work, skills and dedication in helping to share the good work of the foundation with the greater world community.
