First Annual Book Award Deadline June 30!

The James Baker Hall Foundation, in collaboration with Accents Publishing, is launching the James Baker Hall Book Award. The inaugural award is for poetry.

In 2024, the award recognizes an unpublished manuscript of poetry over 50 pages by a Kentucky author who has not yet published a full-length poetry collection. For the purpose of the award, a Kentucky author is defined as someone who lives in Kentucky, has strong ties to Kentucky or whose work features a prominent Kentucky theme.

To be eligible, poets must be 18 or older. Current students of the judge, as well as personal friends may not submit. The author of the winning manuscript will receive a $3,000 award and the manuscript will be published the following year by Accents Publishing, with the standard Accents Publishing contract.

Entries will be judged by acclaimed poet Greg Pape. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. For submission information, visit www.jamesbakerhallfoundation.org.
